Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026 — Plain language, real transparency.

DeafJobs.org exists to help the deaf and hard-of-hearing community find opportunity, connection, and belonging. These terms are here to keep everyone safe, informed, and empowered — not to intimidate you. If something feels unclear, reach out.

Section 1

Community Marketplace Disclaimer

DeafJobs.org is a community connection platform that helps workers, freelancers, employers, volunteers, businesses, and organizations discover and connect with one another.

DeafJobs.org does NOT guarantee:

  • Employment, hires, or placements
  • Qualifications, skills, or experience of any user
  • Safety of any interaction, meeting, or transaction
  • Communication compatibility between parties
  • Background checks, licensing, or insurance coverage
  • Legal compliance of any listing or business
  • Accuracy of references, certifications, or credentials

We are not an employer, staffing agency, or verification service. We provide the space — you provide the judgment.

Section 2

User Content & Profile Data

When you use DeafJobs.org, you may voluntarily share information such as:

  • Skills, resumes, and portfolio materials
  • Communication preferences and availability
  • Work preferences and interests
  • Location and business information
  • Job interests and professional goals

This information helps us improve matching, recommend opportunities, connect workers and employers, personalize your experience, improve accessibility, and surface relevant jobs, workers, businesses, or community resources.

Some profile information, posts, listings, and preferences may be visible to employers, businesses, recruiters, organizations, or other users depending on what you submit and your platform settings. We may use submitted information to help connect users with relevant opportunities, businesses, jobs, services, discussions, or community resources.

You choose what to share. The more you share, the better we can help you find the right fit — but you are never required to disclose anything that makes you uncomfortable.

Section 3

Wizard Experience Disclaimer

The Wizard is an interactive guidance and discovery tool designed to help you explore opportunities, preferences, communication styles, work environments, and community resources.

The Wizard is NOT:

  • Therapy or mental health counseling
  • Medical advice or diagnosis
  • Legal advice
  • Career certification or credentialing
  • Psychological evaluation or assessment

The Wizard provides conversational guidance, accessibility-focused recommendations, opportunity discovery, community exploration, and matching assistance. Responses generated by the Wizard may be automated, AI-assisted, community-generated, or algorithmically suggested.

Think of the Wizard as a thoughtful friend who asks good questions — not a doctor, lawyer, or therapist.

Section 4

Data & Matching

DeafJobs.org may use submitted information, interactions, preferences, and platform activity to:

  • Improve recommendations and personalization
  • Enhance accessibility and user experience
  • Surface potentially relevant jobs or workers
  • Help employers discover potential candidates
  • Help users discover opportunities or communities

Employers, recruiters, organizations, or other users may discover profiles, listings, or submissions through searches, recommendations, category browsing, or matching systems.

We believe in recommendations, not surveillance. We do not track your behavior to manipulate or exploit you. We use what you share to help surface opportunities that genuinely fit your goals.

Section 5

Privacy & Safety

We encourage you to be thoughtful about what you share publicly. Not every detail needs to be visible to everyone.

  • You control many of your profile details and visibility settings
  • You may request deletion or modification of your content by contacting us
  • Public posts and listings may be visible to anyone visiting the platform
  • No online system is perfectly secure — we work hard to protect your data, but we cannot guarantee absolute security

We encourage users to communicate carefully, meet safely, verify identities independently, and use good judgment when interacting online or in person. If something feels off, trust your instincts.

Section 6

Accessibility & Community Values

DeafJobs.org exists to support:

  • Accessibility and equal opportunity
  • Economic inclusion and entrepreneurship
  • Community connection and mutual support
  • Respectful, clear communication
  • Visibility for deaf talent and deaf-owned businesses

The platform aims to create accessible pathways to work, amplify deaf talent, support deaf-owned businesses, and foster community-powered opportunity discovery. We are still learning and growing — and we welcome your feedback on how to do better.

Section 7

Moderation & Removal

DeafJobs.org reserves the right to remove scams, spam, abusive content, misleading listings, or unsafe activity. We may also suspend accounts that violate community trust.

We moderate discussions to keep the community welcoming and safe.

Report Scam Report Unsafe Behavior Report Accessibility Issue Report Fake Listing

If you see something that hurts the community, please say something. Reporting helps us protect everyone.

Section 8

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DeafJobs.org, the Mama Mimi Intelligence Network, and its operators, contributors, and affiliates are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the platform or interactions with other users.

Users are solely responsible for conducting their own due diligence before:

  • Hiring anyone
  • Accepting jobs or gigs
  • Meeting in person
  • Entering homes or private spaces
  • Exchanging money or signing contracts
  • Sharing sensitive personal or financial information

We provide the bridge. You decide whether to cross — and who to cross with.
